I am looking for information on Thomas ANDERSON and John HALL who were on the tax list in Chatham Co., Georgia in 1793. After Thomas ANDERSON's name on the tax list, the clerk wrote something that looks like "du of Este" If anyone can tell me what that means, I would certainly appreciate it. I would also appreciate any information on Thomas ANDERSON and John HALL and where they went from Chatham County. I think that Thomas ANDERSON was dead by 1820, but I have no proof. Thank you.

LeBEY

Tom Ewing Fri Jul 27 11:50:11 2007
Good afternoon, I am doing research on a Charles C. LeBEY from Savannah / Pooler, GA. I research magic history and I have a series of letters from early 1890-1928 magic dealers that were sent to a Charles C. LeBEY discussing his various requests for magic catalogs and magic tricks. He also performed under the name of "Frederick Barrington." He was also a member of the Society of American Magicians (1919). He operated an "Entertainers' Correspondence School" at 2015 Drayton Street in Savannah in the early 1900s. I have letterhead of his and a broadside.

In one letter his address is given as 119 Oglethorpe Ave. W., Savannah. He also apparently moved for a brief period to 710 Florida Ave., Tampa, Florida. I've located a reference to a Charles C. LeBEY in "A History of Savannah and South Georgia," by William Harden written in 1913 and I wonder if this is the same man. Odd coincidences include him being mayor of Pooler for four terms, his wife being born in Tampa, Florida. Any assistance would be helpful.
Tom Ewing

Daisy (Griggs) Wed Sep 19 16:18:37 2007
I am seeking information and records on any slaves, including Anthony, Lucinda, Marcus, Nelson, Maria, Frank, and Peter, who were born in Savannah, Georgia with the surname ANDERSON. They were living in Bovina, Mississippi in 1870. These slaves may have been sold away from Savannah to Ann (NEWMAN) WHITAKER DOWNING in the 1840's. Mrs. Ann DOWNING lived in Warren County, Mississippi from 1845 until her death in 1855. Any help appreciated.

NORRIS - KITTRELL

Sherry Fri Sep 21 06:35:59 2007
I am looking for any information or leads on a Bronson NORRIS.

He can be found on the 1860 Holmes Co.Fl census and he states that he was born in Georgia in 1834. He married Evaline "Clarkie or Clark" Ann KITTRELL born in AL, but her parents William and Caroline KITTRELL were born in NC and SC.

I do not know who Norris's parnets are, but I do know that according to my grandmother's EC Indian application prepared in 1957, that our Native American bloodline runs through the NORRIS - KITTRELL line.
He enlisted in the American Civil War in Vernon, Fl in March 1863 and deserted in July 1863. After that, he cannot be located anywhere, so I am assuming either he used another name or he just didn't want to be found.
