They had five children - Clifford, born 11/30/1868, died 2/21/1941; Elizabeth, born 4/21/1872, died 6/22/1960; Nannie Love, born 01/31/1875, died 10/03/1952; Horace, born 5/31/1877, died 1/04/1962; and John Jr., born 10/14/1879, died 12/09/1936. Today I found a WESTMORELAND family listed in the 1850 Cowetta Co., GA Census:
William W. Westmoreland age 44 born in GA Amy Westmoreland age 40 born in GA William Westmoreland age 17 born in GA Reuben Westmoreland age 16 born in GA E. J. Westmoreland age 13 born in GA Mary Westmoreland age 11 born in GA Lawrence (or Clarence) age 5 born in GA Robert age 3 born in GA Maria age 1 born in GA
William W.'s son William who was age 17 in this census is the person I am interested in. He may be my ancestor. Does Anyone Know This Family and What Happened to this William?
The Tidwell Families book has this family in it but does not say what happened to this William. It lists William W. WESTMORELAND as the son of Reuben WESTMORELAND and Keziah Simmons. Reuben was born in 1770 in VA and died August 1845 in Cowetta Co., GA.
Reuben WESTMORELAND's parents were Joseph WESTMORELAND (born c1740 VA) and Martha Shores from Dinwiddle Co. and Mecklenburg Co. VA
Joseph's father was William WESTMORELAND who lived in VA and died in NC.
If anyone knows this family please contact me. Thanks, Gerald Westmoreland LDSYES@aol.com

We are trying to find out about the parents/siblings of Jack J. LEVELS (1866 - 1917). He turned up in Walker County, Alabama and married Mary Lee CROW, but no one knew where he came from. Years later after his death, a letter came from relatives in Georgia trying to locate him, but we do not know who they were.
We have discovered 1) that the name was spelled differently on occasion, and 2) a LEVELLS family was mentioned in the early settlers of Senoia, Georgia that fit the time frame (he showed up in Alabama around 1892). If anyone has any information that matches with this, we would appreciate it very much if you would contact us.
