KARR

Chris Karr Tue Jun 10 10:26:28 2003
I have just received information from the Georgia Archives stating that my husband's great grandfather, Green B. KARR was seriously injured in a train accident at Powell's Station, Powellville sometime during the Civil War - probably between 1862 and 1865. A Mrs. Sally McGee signed an affidavit stating that he was taken into her house at the time of the injury. I also received data as to the nature and extent of the injuries and statements from physicians who testified that these injuries were the direct cause of his death but no date of the accident. Does anyone have access to newspapers of that era which might have chronicled this accident and can anyone tell me where Powellville is and if there is still a train station there? I received much information which I will be more than happy to share. Green KARR was born in Coweta County in 1833 and died in Paulding County in 1899. Will appreciate any help. Thank you all and may God bless.
