DAY - FORMBY - REYNOLDS

Lois Tue Apr 6 15:09:30 2004
I am searching for information on my great grandfather, James Hillery DAY (b 1849 GA), whom I believe to be the grandson of William DAY and Mary Ann (FORMBY) DAY, who both died in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia according to some records I have found. He is listed as the youngest child of Moses DAY (son of William and Mary Ann) and Celia REYNOLDS. Can anyone in Troup County give me additional information about where James H. DAY may have been during the 1850, 1860, 1870 or 1880 censuses. The first census listing I have found him in is the 1900 and 1910 Dooly County GA censuses. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Lois

HARRIS - ANDERSON

Jan Jordan Mon Apr 19 16:49:53 2004
I need help. Is there a list or log of deaths in Troup County between 1910 and 1920 census. I am looking for the death in West Point of Anna M. (ANDERSON) HARRIS (Mrs. Lavoi HARRIS) in that time frame. She was alive at the end of 1910--obit of her son but Lavoi is listed as a widower in 1920 census. Her name is so common...could someone look at the Troup Co Courthouse for any information at all. My ggrandfather who was her brother did not have a death certificate just a one line entry in a book. I am trying to confirm her parents names...and where she was buried...

BAILEY - SAMPLES - SALES - JOHNSTON - RICHARDSON

Ralph Bailey Sun May 2 14:30:44 2004
John BAILEY registered for the 1827 Ga. Land Lottery in Troup County and drew land in Twiggs County, Ga.

Jeremiah BAILEY married Mahala RICHARDSON - 01 Dec 1826 and William BAILEY married Mary E. SALES 28 Sep 1847. Another William BAILEY married Mary Ann SAMPLES - 01 Dec 1842.

Have a William BAILEY in the 1818 Twiggs County, Ga. Tax Digest living next to Philip BAILEY b. 1770, my 4th grandfather, who the archivist at Ga. Archives who furnished me with the Tax Digest advises she believes is related to my Philip.

Also have William and Jeremiah BAILEY witnessing a land transaction in Randolph County, Ga. so assume they are related. Perhaps Jeremiah is William's father.

Trying to connect to Philip who was in Houston County, Ga. late 1820's and Randolph County, Ga. late 1830's. Presumably died in Randolph between 1840 and 1850. Philip had son John b. 1800-1810. Also had son Thomas b. 1800-1810 and son Bryan B. 1806 married to Teresa JOHNSTON b. 1808.

DAY - FORMBY - REYNOLDS

Lois Mon May 10 08:58:09 2004
I was able to do some intensive research down in Dooly and Crisp Counties in Georgia last week and discovered that my great grandfather's middle name was "Hillery". So the "H" in James H. DAY is Hillery, and it seems that he may have been known mostly as "Hillery" instead of James. This may open up some new routes for finding information on censuses. If you happen to discover anything concerning a William DAY, married to Mary Ann Polly (FORMBY) DAY, parents of Moses DAY married to Celia REYNOLDS, parents of James H. DAY ( who may or may not be our James Hillery DAY), I would greatly apprceciate your sharing such information.
