About the North Dakota American History and Genealogy Project

In June, 2004, after a mean spirited group of politicians of the USGenWeb Project removed me as State Coordinator, without cause, of NDGenWeb, this site was created - to continue the work I started in 1996, to provide researchers in North Dakota history and genealogy a central repository of such knowledge.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page. Contact the volunteer shown on the county page if you have a desire to add your data to the database.

Now the same thing is in the works for many states in the nation. This is the project for North Dakota. If the county in which you are interested does not have a page and you wish to participate, please contact Tim Stowell, and request the sample web page be sent to you. If you would like to contribute your data, or are just curious, leave me a message and I will get back to you with the answers a.s.a.p!

You may notice a message beside the county listing indicating it is available for adoption. This means that while we have created the county page, we are now looking for someone to take it over. If you would like to adopt a web page for one of these counties, please contact the current owner of the page, whose name is listed at the bottom of their county page, or on this page beside their county.

If you would like a copy of the ND sample packet or if you need a simple HTML editor email me Tim Stowell.
