We clip the following from Monday's Syracuse Courier, which will be of interest to all who know Dr. BROWN, a former Cortland boy: "On Thursday last Dr. U.H. BROWN, of this city, was united in marriage to Miss Edith J. DELANY, an accomplished and beautiful young lady of Ogdensburg. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Dr. MILLARD in this city. Dr. BROWN is not only an ornament to the learned profession which he is following, especially in that branch which he has made his special study but he is a gentleman of genial disposition, and of other rarer qualities, which tend to popularize him among all who know him. The number is very numerous in Syracuse, where himself and bride will reside, who will greet them on all sides with sincere wishes for their future bliss."

Truxton.

A somewhat serious accident occurred at the Baptist church on last Sunday afternoon. Ira J. CRANDALL's team had been driven up to the church and Mrs. Harrison CRANDALL was seating herself upon the back seat of the democrat wagon accompanied by another lady when the horses suddenly started, throwing the seat and its occupants backward upon the ground. Mrs. CRANDALL was picked up insensible and carried to the house of W.P. SUMNER where medical assistance was summoned and the lady was at last brought to consciousness. Dr. J.C. NELSON who attended her reported no bones broken and she was taken to the residence of Ira CRANDALL. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison CRANDALL have just been joined in the holy bonds of matrimony and this was their first attendance at church since their wedding, consequently the lady's wedding dress (a very nice one) was ruined, also her other wearing apparel. We hope their journey through life may hereafter be more smooth.
