HASTY, HILL posted by Wayne Hill on Friday, January 31, 1997

Looking for info on family of James HILL, who drew land in Meriwether Co in 1827 lottery. From 1827-1848 he lived first in Meriwether, then Troup then Harris counties but all were within a few miles of each other, near Pine Mtn. Left for Miss. in 1848 with some of his children but I believe some stayed in GA. His wife was Nancy HASTY. They came from Wayne Co NC in the mid-1820's to Jones Co GA before drawing land. The children whose names I know that went to MS were Augustus, Robert, Pleasant and Elizabeth. Mother-in-law lived with them named Jemima HILL HASTY.
