Looking for any info on the decendants of Samuel SHAW who lived in Sherburne as early as 1811, which is when my gggrandfather William S SHAW was born. He had 6 boys and 2 girls. His wife, I believe, was Theodotia. William left in 1837 to help build the city of Elgin Illinois.

Looking for information on the WILBUR family. My great-great-great grandmother was Olivia WILBUR. I believe her father was John. She was born Jan. 7, 1820. Her death certificates says she if from Chautauqua County. However, a John WILBUR moved to Chenango County in 1826. I believe this is her family. Olive married John M. PADELFORD around 1837 and moved to Elgin, Illinois sometime before 1850. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Thank you.

GGF Michael M. HEALEY, b.1854, married Elizabeth Jane TRACY (dau. of Sarah Jane McCULLOUGH and Henry TRACY) Oct. 1881 and they settled in Afton/Nineveh area. 3 children, James, Walter (my GF). and William. Michael d. Sept. 1887 at the State Asylum in Utica; in 1891 wife married William SICKLER and had one child (Franklin) with him. I need:
(1) Michael M.'s place of birth - d/cert says Susquehanna PA but no record of him there
(2) Michael M.'s place of burial (? Afton area)

Asa BELDEN (born VT?), and wife Lydia lived in Warren Center , Bradford Cty, PA in 1850 and 1870.Their son James P. BELDEN married Sarah CHAFFEE ALLYN, also from Warren Center Bradford Cty., PA, sometime between 1869 - 1878. They lived in Candor, Tioga Cty. NY in 1887. Their son Asa F. BELDEN was born 20 Nov 1878, and died 17 Apr 1941. His wife was Alzada ? (second husband BAKER). They lived in Greene ,Chenango Cty NY.
James P. was a farmer in Candor, wife Sarah had worked in the Treasury Dept. in Washington DC, and died in 1912. Where? Anything about them or their son Asa F. BELDEN, is appreciated. Other names associated with them: CHAFFEE, ALLYN, SMITH, BARNEY, BOWEN, all of E. Providence RI, Warren Center, PA, Broome, Tioga and surrounding counties in NY.

The 1800 census for Chenango Co. listed a Robert EDMOND living in the town of Hamilton. Also the name MESSINGER is listed in DeRuyter. I am looking for Robert and Lucy (MESSINGER) EDMOND's parents. The couple had a son Augustus in 1801 in or near Schoharie NY. They moved to Harpersfield Ohio sometime after that. I can't find Hamilton, does anyone know what became of that town? Also any info on the EDMONDS / EDMUNDS / EDMOND etc. would be appreciated.

I am searching for information on Asa VANVLIET. Asa left Chenango County in 1837 and went to Tuscorora Town, Steuben Co New York. He may have been just married to a lady named Electra, (maiden name may have been HIGGINS) but it could be they married in Steuben County. Asa was born August 28, 1810.
I would be happy to receive any information about him, father, mother, siblings etc. etc. and their orgins. Asa could have been related to Ezekiel or Peter VANVLIET.

I am searching for any further info (parents,siblings,etc.) on my gg-grandparents ... Barnabus/Barnaby "Barney" WILCOX born in 1785/95, died in Sept 1872, married (early 1880's) Elizabeth"Betsey" (JUSTICE) born in 1795 and died in Sept 1872 (just days from Barney).
They had three children:
son - Andrew Jackson (my g-grandpa) in 1834,
daughter - Almira in 1827,
and an older son - possibly Benjamin, no birthdate.
Barney may have been born in the state of Rhode Island, lived in Oswego county until 1830's. Betsey may have been born in Oswego County as well?? Then bought land in Lincklaen NY. Both are buried in Lincklaen, and we have found property records for both JUSTICE and WILCOX families in Lincklaen, but aren't sure how they are tied together. Any help would be appreciated.

Seeking info on the family of David PURDY who is listed in the 1810 Federal Census for Chenango Co., NY. He is believed to be the same David PURDY who m. Lydia HATCH in Manchester, VT, 19 Mar 1786. Need to confirm this is the same David PURDY. The index for the 1810 Chenango Co. census erroneouly lists him as David PURCEY. Seeking to prove that David and Lydia were the parents of Hannah PURDY, b. 1 Apr 1795, who m. David POLLEY, 1 Jan 1811. Need to know also where and when David PURDY died, Chenango Co, back in VT, or elsewhere, perhaps Ohio.

I am looking for William DALTON b. 1780 in RI married to Mary? They lived in Chenango County in the early 1800's. Job was born there 5-17-1816 in Smithville. They also had 10 other children: Paris, Benjamin, Cynthia, Betsy, John, Peter, James, Nancy, Erastus, and Celinda (who were twins).
Job married Mary J. MEEKER (who was called Polly) and their first five children were born in Chenango County from about 1820 to about 1847.

I am searching for my GGrandmother Emma (THORINGTON) RICE GARDNER. Emma was born 18 Mar 1857 in Cortland Co. Her parents were Lathael THORINGTON and Sylvia COLEMAN. She married Frank DeForest RICE and had four daughters. Mina died in 1880 in an accidental scalding. Frank died in 1882 and she gave up the children, Julia L., who married Hiram N. ALBRO; Minnie A., who married Harvey O. SACKETT and Jennie RICE who was adopted by William A. MORGAN & his wife Julia LEWIS of Preble, Cortland. Jennie married Clinton C. PENOYER, Harvey H. O'REE and Ernest F. KNAPP.
I believe Emma's second husband was an Al or Fred GARDNER. They (possibly) had four children: Rose ( who married Ward H. MANWARREN; Grace (who married James DEANIE?); Stewart MALLO; and Frederick L.GARDNER. When did Emma and her second husband die and where are they buried? I would be glad to exchange information on this family. The THORINGTON's & RICE's fought in the Civil War.
