LEE

Becky Huff Mon Jul 5 18:29:59 2004
I am looking for information for my fifth great-grandfather, Ebenezer LEE, born 1774 in Chenango County, NY. He married Betsy JANES, daughter of Humphrey JANES and Thankful CAMPBELL. My records say they had two children: Joseph Ellis LEE (Reverend) born 1800, and Emily LEE born 1802. Census records say three children.

I want information on the third child, if possible. I also want information on Ebenezer LEE. Who were his parents?
Please email me at molly_cat@hotmail.com rather than posting anything in here. Thank you.

LOCKWOOD

Lena Evans Mon Jul 19 06:06:57 2004
Looking for any information regarding the "adoption" of Betty Marie LOCKWOOD, born 6/19/1940 in Norwich Hospital. William and Sadie LOCKWOOD were her birth parents. When Sadie died 7/9/1940, a Dr. Dodge removed Betty from the home along with someone supposely from social services. This adoption was apparently not done through the courts as her birth certificate was not sealed. I am asking for any information from anyone who may know of the family who received Betty as an infant to contact me. Betty Marie LOCKWOOD is my aunt and the family has been trying to locate her for a long time. She came from a family of 8 brothers and 1 sister.

Looking for ancestry of Robert Eugene MILLER, born 2-13-1918 in Chenango County, unknown town. His mother was Maude (MILLER). I believe her parents were German. I don't know Robert's father's name. I do know that he was a twin. His father was allegedly married to a woman who was a Native American, probably Mohawk. They may not have been legally married - I don't know how such unions were handled in those days. It is this connection that really interests me. Family members, all now deceased, talked about it but no one had specific information. Thank you! Robin C. Miller

BENNETT

Gail Bargerstock Tue Aug 17 22:54:49 2004
My ggg grandfather was Vernon BENNETT. On the 1865 Census for the Town of Murray, Orleans Co, New York, he gives his birth county as Chenango. Vernon BENNETT was born 18 April 1826 and died 10 April 1870. He married Jane SPICER on 10 January 1847 in Kendall, Orleans Co, New York and they had 8 children, Sylvester, John Amasa, Anna, Tryphena, Adelbert Vernon, Lucretia, Ida Bell and Frank Henry.

I have been unable to find records of Vernon BENNETT in Chenango County or anywhere else other than the Orleans Co website. I do not know his parents names or siblings, if he had any, and would like to hurdle this wall.

I would be grateful for anyone's help and am very willing to share information on this line from Vernon through his descendants. I have direct and collateral lines.
Thank you. Gail
