WHEELER - STEWART

Marlys Bratteli Mon Oct 31 20:27:08 2005
I really need your help overcoming my five year brickwall and finding the information to complete the last link for an application into the DAR. According to the death record for my g-grandfather, Charles G. WHEELER, he was the son of Noyes and Priscilla WHEELER. This appears to have been Noyes WHEELER, b. 17 Dec. 1772 in Stonington, Connecticut (son of Isaac WHEELER) and his wife, Priscilla STEWART b. 20 May 1778 also in Stonington. They were probably married in 1798 in Stonington, Connecticut, but I have found no proof. Further connections between Charles and Noyes included Charles purchasing land in McHenry County, Illinois on 21 April 1849. On that same date Noyes WHEELER purchased three parcels of land in the same area. I am not sure if this Noyes is his father or possibly a brother.

Noyes WHEELER, Jr. is listed in the 1820 Federal Census in German township, Chenango County, New York. This Noyes is to young to be the father of Charles, but he could be a brother. Also Noyes WHEELER (spelled Nois) purchased land from the Holland Company in Brakel Township of New York (also Chenango County) on 23 April 1814. Does anyone have information about Noyes WHEELER (children, date and place of death) or Noyes WHEELER Jr? Or when the land, 49 acres on Lot B 44 of Brakel Township, was sold and to whom?

Thank you for any information that you can provide.
Marlys Bratteli

ROBINSON - RESSEGUIE

Carl Tatlock Tue Nov 15 12:10:52 2005
Ebenezer ROBINSON, born 1759 in Dutchess county, died 8 June 1850, and is presumedly buried in German. Any details for me? Which cemetery? He was a Revolutionary War veteran. Possibly his wife was Thankful RESSEGUIE, and they had a daughter Lucy back in Dutchess county in 1803-- my ggg grandmother, Lucy RAYMOND from Interlaken, NY. Ebenezer may have been a late-comer to German -- perhaps as a widower to live out his days with another child of that marriage.
